Cala Tarida

Cala Tarida – one of our favourite beaches - Probably the longest one in the western island. It is located in a huge bay of rather shallow waters – very warm most of the time. . Sometimes in the late summer, currents may make it a little bit colder. Bottom is mostly sandy, and you can go quite far out, but deeper and more rocky spots can also be found. Massive rock backdrop shelters the beach behind you, and someone managed to build few restaurants on the hills, so you will never get thirsty or hungry there. Menus will suit every taste and budget.
And again – you will not find much shade outside of the bars, so those more sensitve would need some cover up. You would not melt there though, as everytime I went there, a very pleasant Mediterranean breeze blew gently.
Cala Trida is quite crowded, hence lifeguards have their tower there, you can also rent some pedaloes. There is also a volleyball net. Size approx. 280 metres long, 30-100 metres wide. Cala Tarida even though is quite distant, can be easily reached by car, bus and ferry…
